The Virtual Volunteer, which supports migrants with vital, reliable information, is a project developed by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to support National Societies provide quality information to migrants in their countries and beyond. Multifunctional Centre in Athens

Our Multi-Functional Centre in Athens assists migrants with information provision and support services including:

  • Case work: individualized social casework by trained professionals to refugees and migrants, assisting them in their daily choices and helping them accommodate to their new host country. Opening Hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00
  • Safe social meeting space: a free space to meet up with other fellow refugees and migrants, a space filled with books and games, have access to free internet and where your kids can play safely. Opening Hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00
  • Migrant advice bureau service:  paralegal consultant to be prepared for any legal consultation and other practical procedures such as filling government forms, access to education and social security.Opening Hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00
  • Playground: a lightly structured, informal gathering where parents, carers, babies and children up to school age come together in a relaxed and friendly environment to connect, play and learn.Opening Hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00
  • Psychological Support: you can ask to see a psychologist who is trained professional to accompany you or your family through difficult times and situations. In the same way that a doctor treats physical wounds, a psychologist helps people with their psychological suffering. Opening Hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00
  • Language courses: Language is power. Learning a foreign language can improve your everyday life and expand your horizons. It can develop confidence, help you make new friends, get in touch with a new culture and civilization. And it can also be fun! For availability check with the Hotline.

NEED AN APPOINTMENT?

The easiest way to organize an appointment is to visit the day center and request an appointment through the self-referral form which you can ask at reception.  You may also contact the information Hotline to request an appointment at:  +30 210 514 0440 / or Whatsapp and Viber: +30 693 472 4893

They will ask you a few questions and transfer your request to our service managers who will contact you to offer an appointment.

We also have an information hotline.

We provide you with correct and up-to-date information, guide you, support and advise you in all subjects concerning migrants and refugees in Greece in their mother tongue.

Open Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 20:00. The phone line is confidential and provides information in Greek, Arabic, Farsi Dari, Turkish, Pashto, Russian, English, French, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, and Swahili.

Multi-Functional Centre in Thessaloniki

Our Multi-Functional Centre in Thessaloniki assists migrants in the area with information and orientation services.

Our services include:

  • Case work: one to one support to help migrants access different services to meet their needs
  • Orientation service: information, events and activities designed to help newly arrived migrants to Thessaloniki
  • Cash assistance programme: In partnership with UNHCR, the distribution of cash support to eligible migrants
  • Restoring Family Link (RFL): help for people who want to communicate with family members and look for those who are lost

Hellenic Red Cross

Hellenic Red Cross is one of the oldest member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

 

Since its founding in 1877 the Red Cross has been supporting the Greek population and migrants in the country providing many essential services including support in conflict situations, medical service, social and psychological support and more.

 

The action of the Red Cross is regulated by its seven Fundamental Principles: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, Universality.
